Road Trip Safety Tips

Before you leave on any trip, you need to take the time to examine the electrical components of your vehicle. These include the battery and alternator. Smythe Volvo Cars can perform an analysis to determine if these parts are putting out the proper charge. The starter is another part that you need to have checked as you don't want to get in your car and not be able to get it started.

Make sure you have plenty of gas in your vehicle. If you're stuck in traffic, you don't want to risk running out of gas. Raise the windows up and down to see that they work as they should. You can also examine the air conditioner to determine if it's operating as it should. This is an important feature if you're traveling in the summer with children or pets in the vehicle.

Have the air filter checked to see if it should be changed as you want the proper airflow through your motor. Check your oil and transmission fluid levels as well.
