Diesel-powered Volvo vehicles are set to become an important part of our lineup at Smythe Volvo. The aim is to provide us with another efficient, yet innovative and powerful car that we've grown accustomed to over the years. The automaker plans to do that in two ways that we'd like to share with you.

One is by installing eight-speed automatic transmissions on new Volvo models. It will enhance the vehicle's responsiveness, provide you with a smooth ride at all times, while upping the fuel efficiency. This is the type of technology that can be applied anywhere and lower fuel consumption.

If we're specifically talking about diesel vehicles, that's where Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA) comes in. This fall when the new models are released, you'll find that technology is working to give you the exact amount of fuel to power a model like the S80 at all times. That's because i-ART will house small computers near each fuel injector and monitor the amount going in, ensuring it is at optimal levels. We think that's pretty cool.

Last, but not least, Volvo has lofty plans for these four-cylinder models. The goal is to see them harness the power of V8 engines while maintaining high levels of fuel economy. We're betting on it being a reality sometime in the future.

If you'd like to check out the current vehicles in our showroom, stop in to Smythe Volvo today. We'd be happy to discuss models in greater detail, answer any questions you might have, and once you've found the model that interests you, arrange a test drive at 326 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901.
