We say it time and time again on the Smythe Volvo blog: big changes are coming to Volvo vehicles. The XC60 and XC90 will have refreshed models and change the dynamic of the Swedish automaker, but there's one that will remain a tried and true staple of the new Volvo lineup: the XC70.
The 2014 edition maintains the boxed wagon look that has given it cult-like status here in our Summit, NJ showroom, but has that modern touch we crave both inside and out.
Looking inside, you'd find that the center console is neatly organized and uses Sensus Connected Touch, a touchscreen that gives you access to a wide range of features. Of course, there's also a comfortable interior, and available power glass moonroof, and remote keyless entry, among other amenities. The transmission also got an adjustment, and drivers have the option of adding some more power under the hood with a Polestar package that brings up the horsepower and zero-to-sixty sprint time.
There's new xenon LED lights on the outside that use daytime running lights and Active High Beam Control, plus there are sensors in the new grille that help operate the safety system onboard the XC70.
