At Smythe Volvo, we've recently heard about some changes in the future for the Volvo model lineup. These updates are likely to come in the form of new style variants, specifically in the hatchback and sedan categories. It's still early, but word is Volvo is currently laying the groundwork for these expected automobiles.
Details are limited, but we do know that the plan is to expand beyond the Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) that most of the new Volvo vehicles currently use. The planned models will be significantly smaller rides and intend to go head-to-head with a certain German hatchback. We're confident that Volvo will be able to produce a competitive vehicle that challenges the current market.
This move marks the beginning of a change in the key architectures surrounding Volvo models. With redesigns of current vehicles like the S60, XC60 and XC90 due out as early as next year, we are likely to see many new look, accessories and features in their future lineup. There will then be the all-new S90, a V90 wagon, and a C60 coupe arriving as well.
Increasingly efficient engines are likely on the horizon, too. Looking to phase out the five- and six-cylinder options, Volvo intends to give us robust four- and three-cylinder versions that they hope will equal the amount of power produced by bigger engines. Stop into our Summit, NJ dealership to learn more about Volvo's current and future offerings. We're just a short drive from Morristown, Jersey City, Newark, Basking Ridge and Westfield.
