Volvo has long been known for safety and reliability, and recently a 1966 P1800 model set a new record further demonstrating this. Irv Gordon, likely the most famous Volvo owner, has owned this model nearly his entire life and has driven it just about as much. In fact, with each passing mile the car breaks its own record.

The story began when Gordon purchased the car from a dealership and drove 1,500 miles in the span of the first weekend he owned it. In fact, he had to bring the car in for the first service and auto repair appointment that Monday. Recently, while driving along the Seward Highway in Alaska, the impressive model broke the 3 million mile mark.

The miles were further piled on with Gordon's 125 mile-per-day roundtrip commute and after ten years hit the half a million mile mark. One million miles was reached in 1987 and two million miles in 2002. We're equally impressed by the pristine presence of the classic car, looking as if it just rolled out of the showroom today.

This story is a testament to the tried and true quality of new Volvo models. We're proud to stand behind vehicles like the S60, XC60, XC70, and XC90 that will keep you safe and secure for years, and miles, to come.
