The Volvo Concept Estate – Luxury in Minimalism
It feels like we can all agree at this point – Volvo makes great cars. It just seems like a fact now, given how impressed we are with the new Volvo models, like the XC90 and S70, that currently grace the lot of your nearby NJ Volvo dealership. That’s why, when Volvo puts its mind into creating a truly special, unique vehicle, the whole world seems blown away.
It’s at this point that we’d like to introduce you to what we feel is the most jaw-dropping, spectacular sight we’ve seen from Volvo yet – the Concept Estate.
If you’ve never experienced the simple, minimalist but highly functional elements of Swedish design, then prepare to step into what we feel is one of the most impressive vehicles produced in a long, long time. Thanks to a clean, minimal design and super-premium attention to detail, Volvo has been able to produce one of the most exciting cars they’ve ever debuted.
A Stunning Exterior
Beauty. Simplicity. Attitude. These were all essential elements to Volvo’s design for the Concept Estate, utilizing the most impressive features from the brand and combining them into one carefully detailed machine.
Boasting the classic Volvo “Thor’s hammer” style LED headlamps and inverted question mark taillamps, the Concept Estate brings a touch of European class to its powerful illumination system. This, combined with the sleek, muscular profile and the Estate’s rich, brown finish, paint a distinct picture of a vehicle meant for turning heads.
An Interior Like A Swedish Living Room
Boasting premium materials to accent each detail of its cabin, the Concept Estate combines functional modernity with traditional Swedish minimalism to provide a fantastic driving experience, with large, roomy, and comfortable seats surrounded by uniquely-designed style elements and a vivid color scheme to introduce a bright, luxurious contemporary feel to this cozy cabin.
Premium patterned ceiling to the durable orange floor mats; orange-accented seatbelts with innovative cockpit seats; glass- and jewel-inspired accents on the dash – Volvo didn’t miss a single detail in creating this amazing interior space. And, perhaps most impressively, this vehicle features an open rear compartment with no rear seats – instead occupied by bespoke pieces for a traditional lawn game of Swedish Kudd, or Viking Chess, under a glass pane.
This, plus the large vertically-oriented touchscreen, mixes the ancient with the modern into what is one massively impressive – and gorgeous – concept model. And with this touchscreen, the driver is able to control most of the car’s functions – like radio and heating, among others – from Volvo’s highly-technical Sensus connectivity system.
Also included as part of this vehicle package are Concept Estate rain coats, a unique addition that’s perfect for everything from a walk around the village to a trip out to the fjords. It’s these premium additions, among others, that make the Concept Estate stand out against other concept models this year.
With this kind of showing from its most recent experiment, we hope to see a lot more advancements like this from Volvo. And since the company seems pretty serious about some of the tactics used in this concept, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some of these elements in commercial Volvos in the near future. For now, we simply gaze with awe at this awesome machine – and we hope you’ve enjoyed joining us.
