You may think your car’s tires are "fine," but there could be severe problems developing. The tread might be dropping lower and lower. Unless you confirm the tread depth, you won’t know how bad things are getting. Low treads undermine the tire's ability to maintain traction and perform safely. So, checking the treads should be a routine step to take.

A penny-check tells gives you an idea about how much tread is left. A specific tool tells a more accurate tale. Self-tests are okay to a point, but it might be wise to ask a Smythe Volvo Cars service technician to examine the treads. The technician could also make sure there’s nothing else wrong with the tires.

Make sure the air pressure is always at the right level. Overinflation is just as troubling and underinflation. Use a pressure gauge to see what psi the tires now hold.

At Smythe Volvo Cars, we perform tire inspections and other services. Drivers can buy new tires here, as well.
