The 2022 Volvo S90 will offer three different engine options, each of which offers excellent performance. The base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional.
The next powertrain offering is a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engine that produces 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The top-of-the-line engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engine that produces 402 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and a four-wheel air suspension.
All three engines offer excellent performance, and the S90 should be a blast to drive. At the same time, the S90 is quite practical. However, the engine options offer enough "pep" to maneuver through traffic with ease while still offering fuel efficiency.
